The John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum is located right across from Korman Residential at International City Chalets. Established by an act of Congress in 1972 to protect the largest remaining freshwater tidal marsh in Pennsylvania, the mandate protects, preserves and enhances habitat; provides compatible outdoor recreation opportunities for the public; and promotes environmental education.
